Music Advisor Calling Restricted To Gender

#1

Post by lorinhardy »

Recently we tried assigning one of our sisters to the "Music Adviser" position. We went to the screen that lists callings by type and allows you to select individuals for them. When we tried to enter her name in the search field, it wouldn't pull up. However, if we entered the name of any of the men, we had no issues. I realize there are callings that only men or women should should be to, but why is the "Music Adviser" limited to men. It's a glitch right? Has anyone else had problems with this? Thanks.

That is correct. From Handbook 2: 14.2, the Ward Music Advisor is "A member of the bishopric".

"Ward Music Chairman" and "Ward Music Director" could be a brother or a sister.
