Web Based Projects

Home Teaching / Visiting Teaching

Introduction The Church desires to prototype an online Home Teaching / Visiting Teaching reporting application with the help of volunteer developers, designers, etc. The current thought is that this application will be a module within the Local Unit Web Sites (or LUWS) on LDS.org.

Church Historical Timeline

Recreation Properties Project

Introduction Although the Church has more than 500 properties, from camps to lodges to ranches, there isn't a single content management system that centralizes all Church property information. Instead, many of the Web sites are independent of one another, inconsistent with each other and often incomplete, and maintained by different groups. Introduction The Mormon Channel is the official radio station of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The channel originates from Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah and broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This project is to provide players on various mobile platforms.

LDS Youth

Introduction LDS Youth provides featured content from the Church's Youth website. With this application, you can get mobile access to videos, articles, music, and Mormonads all specifically tailored to youth in a fun and engaging way. LDS Youth also allows you to share content so you can let your friends enjoy what the Church has to offer to young men and women. This application is also a great resource for parents and leaders of youth for teaching at home or in Church settings.

Book of Mormon

Introduction The Book of Mormon application provides an introductory reading experience and informational dashboard for investigators, similar to Mormon.org. Footnotes and advanced reading features are eliminated to simplify content display. Users can chat live with missionaries, such as is supported on Mormon.org.

Meetinghouse Media Appliance

Introduction In parts of the world outside the satellite footprint, it sometimes takes weeks before members can easily watch General Conference and other broadcast events. In many of these locations, however, there is decent internet access, so the Meetinghouse Media project aims to use the internet as a means to deliver General Conference and other Church video to these locations.
