Gospel LibraryGospel Library 2.0 for Windows 8.1 is a major upgrade from the legacy LDS Gospel Library. If you have been putting off upgrading to the latest version of Windows, this new release provides ample justification to do so. Jim Byer, Sr. Engineer for the Gospel Library project says, “Because the Gospel Library has many different users on different platforms, we wanted to make it as easy and simple to find things as we could so anyone using iPad or Android would be able to find the same functionality and features he or she is accustomed to.” This includes the...

Thank You, Elder Duerden Print E-mail

If “G.C. Duerden” looks familiar, it’s probably because that’s the byline of the Church Service Missionary (CSM) who has been writing most of the articles for our LDSTech blog for the past year or so.

An experienced newspaper journalist, Elder Greg Duerden is a writer by trade, and a talented one at that. He wrote for newspapers all over Utah (Monticello to Ogden), in Colorado, Wyoming, and California before retiring and putting his skills to work for LDSTech.

“Being a CSM is as easy as falling off a log, but a lot more fun,” Elder Duerden said.

LDSTech joins a growing number of LDS information sources encouraging readers to share messages of faith about Jesus Christ throughout the month of December. To help you share a personal message, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints introduced the “He is the Gift” initiative with a short video in late November on www.mormon.org, and created a new hashtag (“#SharetheGift”) for social media channels.

The theme “He is the Gift” emphasizes the love of God as demonstrated by the sacred gift of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World, and draws attention to an oft-quoted scripture: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son…” (John 3:16). Elder Russell M. Nelson, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, commented on the theme...

Nick Pasto and Jonathan Chan authored the Scripture Mastery SUPERSTAR! game for the first-ever LDSTech Gospel Game and App Contest. This game won top honors in the youth division of the contest as well as one of the three People’s Choice awards, which were voted on by the attendees at the LDSTech Conference in October 2014.

This game is based on the 25 scriptures that seminary students are asked to know by memorization as well as the meaning of each scripture. Pasto is an early morning Seminary Teacher, so he was able to have a test audience for the game. “They loved it,” he said. “I would catch them playing it out in the hallway after class.”
