NEW BETA DIRECTORY - link broken

#1

Post by johnshaw »

Hey Team,

When I logged into the directory today I see an invitation to use the new 'beta' site for the directory and maps. However, the link is dead.... it links to

https://www.lds.org/directory/null

Not sure if the code went up too early or if the link is just a mistake, but I'd love to use the new beta!

I was able to access the beta from the maps page; it took me to this URL:
https://directory-beta.lds.org/
Interestingly, it's letting me see data for previous wards I've been in... I assume it's a bug...

It looks like it gives me edit rights - and I'm a STS.

I've logged a bug based on what was reported in some private messages. I'll check on the STS issue in the morning.

The fix for this was deployed about 15 minutes ago. Thanks for reporting it.

Enjoy the new toys. :)

Looks like I'm just seeing my own ward now. Thanks!

I'm still seeing a problem where I'm not able to scroll through the list of wards if my window is short.

I also notice I'm not able to go back (using the browser back button) after loading the page – I have to long-press the back button and choose the page two items back in history. Otherwise, it get's in a loop where it keeps redirecting forward.

Otherwise, I like how the new UI lines up better with LDS Tools! The ability to search by address or phone number is a nice touch.

The beta map shows 3 members unmapped that are mapped in the current map for my ward. I was able to move one of the 3 to their correct location, but the beta map refused to allow the other 2 to be corrected (it said they were corrected, but they were still not mapped) when it was finished.

I've taken a few quick looks at the directory. I agree that there seems to be some issues with "unmapped" addresses. Hopefully I can spend more time with this in the next few days. I notice there's no Feedback link. I guess we have to go to another page to find that. And since it's combined with Maps, maybe we'll have to combine the forums here at some point?

I'm not totally sure what to do with reporting issues on the beta directory, especially since there's no Feedback link. Maybe I'll just start reporting them in the forum here as if I was putting things in a bug tracking system.
