Signature Cards

#1

Post by seusumi »

Our Bishopric was changed on December 9, 2018. Although the new names show up on the Organizations section of MLS, there is nothing that shows up for the signature card--not even an option to see the previous card. The new bishopric has already been input by the Stake in the stake records, but no signature card is populated in the ward data base. We cannot even access a signature card as per directions on the MLS, either through "MLS Finances menu>Finance reports>signature card," or through alternate method: "MLS Reports/ Forms menu> Signature Card.

Please respond ASAP as none of the Bishopric can sign any checks, due to all previous signatures being deactivated because of release from the bishopric.

Please send a blank signature form to my email address, so that we can get the signatures added and processed.

Thank-you,

I'd suggest you call or email these folks: Support Contact Information for U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

The person trying to access the signature card MUST have sufficient privileges in MLS to do so. MLS is different than a typical LDS Access account that automatically assigns privileges based on one's calling; in MLS privileges are manually assigned to each user. If your new bishop or ward clerk can't access the signature card in MLS, then most likely your old bishop or ward clerk still can. If all else fails, contact your stake technology specialist (Assistant Stake Clerk - Technology) and he should be able to sort it out.

BTW, as soon as the new signature is mailed, those on the card can immediately begin signing checks.

Have the Bishopric and clerks been properly set up in the MLS access table including rights to finance and login password?
Also I believe the person accessing the SC needs to have admin rights or at least financial rights.

If you need help I would contact your stake clerk and/or tech specialist.

There is nothing special about the form. You could make your own:
Date:__________

Calling:____________
Printed name:___________ Signature:____________
Phone Number:________________

I would not bar the new Bishop from signing checks but get the SC as soon as possible within a couple of weeks.

This is the right place to go:

By the way, the help center: https://lds.org/help/support?lang=eng is my go to place to answer so many of these questions.

There are 11 types of people. Those who understand Gray Code and those that don't.
