Gospel Library 5.0 for Android?

Postby blaineg » Sat Sep 08, 2018 5:38 am

Is there an estimated release date for Gospel Library 5.0 for Android?

The 5.0 option to sort conference talks by speaker is great, and I miss having it on Android.

There isn't an estimated release date yet, but there is a public alpha version available (as of today). More info can be found on the "Gospel Library BETA" Google+ community:

This morning I got the 5.0 beta update.
What's New
- Added chapter grid for quicker navigation in the scriptures.
- Added Speakers and Topics tabs in the General Conference section.
- Reduced the size of the app.
- Reduced the size of downloaded content and storing it more efficiently.
- Improved content updating so it will happen in the background automatically.
- New Search Experience.
- Added ability to Print.
- Updated verse call-out style when following links

I really like the chapter grid!

I have the 5.0 beta and it will not get past about 25% updating gospel library. Have cleared data and uninstalled but still will not finish install or update. Have tried using WiFi and cellular and still stuck at 25%

A new update was released today. Perhaps it resolves the issue you are having.

I have the 5.0 alpha version from last month. When I go to google play it won't show me the new version and it says the beta program for the app is full. But I was in the beta program last month. Why am I out now? I'd like to get the newest version of the alpha app.

The public alpha is no longer receiving updates because the app is now in the public beta stage.

My question though, is why was I kicked out of the beta program? I was in it last month.

Are you sure you were in the beta last month, and not just the alpha (they're two different listings on the Google Play store)?
I don't know what would cause you to be removed from the beta – the list of beta members is controlled by Google Play and the developers can't add or remove people directly from the list (they can only set how big the beta group should be – I think currently it's over 5000).

It told me I was a member of the beta group last month. And I have been a member for quite a while. I monitor the Google + beta group also. My posts over there show I've been a member of the Gospel Library beta group for at least 3 years.
