Transfer of Missionary Funds

Postby BlakeTerry » Sun Sep 02, 2018 3:50 pm

We have received the membership of a missionary serving a full time mission whose parents moved into a ward within our stake from another stake. Are the missionary funds to the church automatically withdrawn from the new ward? What about any excess funds that the previous ward may have for that missionary?
Thank You,

No. The financial responsibility transfers differently than a simple move of a missionary's record. The information and procedures are found in the Missionary Finances page at the Help Center. The section "Change in the missionary’s home ward" explains the process.

That will be worked out in the communications between bishops.

Have you tried finding your answer on the LDS.org Help Center page or the LDSTech wiki?

Specifically, i think that's handled by setting an effective transfer date for the responsibility.
