Passwords

Big problem. The bishopric was released and the new bishopric includes one of the previous counselors whose password isn't working. All of the previous bishopric was removed. The ward clerk is the same and now is the only one with a functioning password. We tried to create new accounts for the new bishop and new counselor but it requires two people to verify. We have only one who has a valid account/password. How can we resolve it? The stake didn't seem to know precisely and now we are stuck with a bunch of tithing to process but can't do it without two accounts. Ideas?

You need to call the Global Service Center and have someone walk through this with you. It will likely require some interaction from Church headquarters to fix it.

Are we talking about a LDS Account which is only used for web pages, or a MLS account?
Have you searched the Help Center? Try doing a Google search and adding "site:churchofjesuschrist.org/help" to the search criteria.

So we can better help you, please edit your Profile to include your general location.

It looks like the issue is with MLS. In some areas, you need two people with finance authorization privileges to make a change to another user with finance authorization privileges. If they have gotten into the state where there is only one finance authorizer to make the changes, it requires headquarters assistance to get a second finance authorizer configured and then the unit can complete the changes once that is done.

Moderator note: The four previous posts were split from the "Passwords" thread in the "LDS Account" forum since the topics are different or rather that the password discussions are for different programs.

This is very similar to the problem that I am having.
Bishop was released and moved out the area. Former counselor called as bishop. I am the new clerk. When I went to enter in new members as bishop, counselors, clerk in system options which was requiring two passwords. There were only two drop down options for password verification: 1st and 2nd counselor. When I entered these, they were rejected. I have contacted GSC twice now and their remedy has yet to solve the issue. This is leading to a build up of tithing which is not ideal or prudent. Please help.

Jason Lyman
