For reasons I will not go into, an elderly lady was baptized twice once in Jan 2008 and later in May 2016. A member record was created each time, but under a different last name. Do I use the Merge Duplicate Records option or does more need to be done to delete the second, duplicate baptism ordinance?
There was no excommunication between the two baptisms.

I would merge them. And with LCR, that is the best way to delete one of them anyway.marcfromm wrote:Do I use the Merge Duplicate Records option or does more need to be done to delete the second, duplicate baptism ordinance?

Sounds like the thing to do, since church head quarters do the actual merge. The bigger question is the questionable circumstances that resulted in the second baptism.
