In the Directory, there are various places where clicking on a photo will popup a modal with the larger photo and other details on the individual or household. That would include clicking on either an individual or household photo for any household in the "Households" section, or clicking on an individual photo for a leader displayed in the Ward Leaders section.
Since the recent release of the Directory, if that popup happens to overlap the header of the page, the text of the header bleeds through. Not only is that distracting, but any links in the header take precedence over the popup; specifically, in some cases the close button in the upper right corner of the popup may not work because it is overridden by a header link in the same location. For example, in this screen shot, the "News" link is in the same location as the close button, so you can't close the modal; instead, the News menu appears when you click on the close button.
Now I certainly know some tricks for enabling the close button, such as resizing the browser window a bit, but not every user can easily find a way to work around the problem. I've verified this on Chrome and on Firefox 15.

Alan, Tier 3 over at FamilySearch knows of a huge header/footer problem with the FamilySearch page, we've discussed that at length over the past couple of months in the FamilySearch Wiki Technical Meeting, and even they are having some real difficulties with resolving their issues. This is going to take a bit, but it may be worth talking to Warren there, he knows the status and maybe what they're finding even with their header issues.

The FamilySearch header has nothing to do with the LDS.org header. Although both ICS and FamilySearch have had recent challenges with their global headers, that is just a coincidence. I can't imagine how Warren could shed any light on the LDS.org header problems.JamesAnderson wrote:Alan, Tier 3 over at FamilySearch knows of a huge header/footer problem with the FamilySearch page, we've discussed that at length over the past couple of months in the FamilySearch Wiki Technical Meeting, and even they are having some real difficulties with resolving their issues.
