LUFAS - first time using it, any pitfalls to be aware of?

Our stake is using LUFAS for the first time for the upcoming audits. With auditor training coming up soon in our stake, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, helps, ideas, etc. on what to watch out for or be particularly aware of. Kind of an open question, but since I've never used LUFAS, not sure what to ask. Thanks!

I am not an auditor, so have not used LUFAS for auditing. As a stake clerk, I have used it for reports and find it useful. Our stake has used it for the past two audit cycles and I've heard no complaints from the auditors.

Auditors will need LDS accounts. A few of ours didn't set one up till the last minute and it caused problems. Some of the training requires that they log in. Reminder that they should have their own email addresses to set up LDS account. We had one auditor who shared an email with his wife, she already had an LDS account and when he tried to use the same email in setting his up, he had issues.

One thing we figured out (this requires sort of an auditor paradyme shift) we have the auditor log in the clerks office computer and begin asking the interview questions and clicking the appropriate buttons but when it got to testing, the clerk and the auditor switched seats. The clerk hands the auditor papers, he makes a selection and examines what he needs and tells the clerk what to type in the LUFAS system. The auditor always has the chance to check before the clerk advances to the next screen and he rewires before certifying anyway. This method really shaves time off the audit especially if both the clerk and the auditor prepare correctly.

And of course, all auditors (and Audit Committee Chairman and Audit Committee Members) need to have the standard calling for stake auditor in stake MLS.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

We have been using LUFAS out here in Ohio for years and it works well. The biggest pitfall to watch for is that it will time out on you - such as when you are reviewing expenses. If you don't save and move to the next screen (not sure what the time is), it will time out and everything from the last save will be lost. I generally only do two or three expense vouchers before saving.

I have been informed at our stake audit training that the time-out issue has been resolved. I don't know what that means, but I guess I will find out during this audit cycle.

I'm a Stake Finance Clerk, and I tried to download audit forms from LUFAS at home and internet explorer crashes each time I click on a Ward audit link. However, when using the computer at the church, using IE 8 it works fine. Any known bugs or settings to help with IE 9?

try setting ie9 to compatibility mode OR if it is already in compatibility mode take it out of compatibility mode.
