Unofficial 2009 TechTalk transcript

#1

Post by atticusewig »

Attached you will find a transcript I put together for the latest TechTalk.
My text file wouldn't post because it exceeded some limit, but the PDF
went through. Weird, huh?

Anyway, some things to consider:

I transcribed this solely based on an audio-only recording of the event, so it I probably got at least some of the names misspelled, so apologies to all those involved.

My recording had background noises from my house on it (a tape recorder left by a laptop tends to do that), so there are some parts I just didn't hear completely. I use the double brackets to denote that
[[ sentence missing ]] would be an example.

I removed or rephrased some of what was said. "Ums", and false starts are mostly omitted. I did change some word order or added a word here or there to clarify what I think was being said, but most of the core meaning is left intact.

Anyhow, if you find this transcript to be useful, please let me know.
It took longer to transcribe than I expected, but if it helps someone
out, then it all will be worth it.

Thanks,

Atticus Ewig

It certainly helped me to review the session again so I could easily jump back and forth to the parts I wanted to see. GREAT work.

Great job. I wasn't able to listen to the live broadcast and having the chance to review what took place in a written form, is very helpful. Thanks for taking the time - which I'm sure was no small effort :D

It was definitely no small effort! I transcribed just the QA portion from last year and it took a significant amount of time!!

I'll use it to learn English. I can read while listening. Thank you very much.

Thank you! As others have said, I'm sure this was quite an undertaking. I wasn't able to catch it live, so I appreciate the ability to review it now.
