podium only goes up, any solutions?

For things that just don't fit anywhere else.

podium only goes up, any solutions?

#1

Post by rmrichesjr »

When I tried to put the chapel podium down to optimize viewing for general conference, it only went up. Each button would make it go up, not down. The symptoms seem to suggest there's one relay to turn the motor on and another relay to change direction, with the latter relay not working properly. Now, the pulpit is stuck high enough for a professional basketball player. :-( Does anyone happen to know a solution--other than wait for the FM group? (It's estimated it will take the FM group several weeks to respond.)

Because this problem will affect sacrament meeting, if it is reported promptly, the FM Group should respond before next Sunday. Unless you have a very smart electrician in your ward, make sure the report to FM is turned in with the highest priority.

Thanks for that suggestion. I passed the 'highest priority' suggestion to the STS.

In case others might run into a similar issue, the symptoms had changed between Saturday and Sunday morning. This morning, the buttons were inconsistent in which direction they caused the podium to move. Sometimes, the up button would now move it downward. After several attempts, I got it moving downward and kept it going for viewing today's conference sessions. The symptoms seemed to be consistent with the hypothesis of a stuck direction-control relay.
