Temple and Family History Consulting - No Ward \ Aux level reporting

#1

Post by KeithCunningham »

Hello - The new T&FH Consultant program has taken off. Our area's goal is 100% of all adults have their 4 generations entered into Family Search, with the ordinances having been completed - by the end of 2017. Any goal must be measured - but there isn't any report or other tool available to ward leadership to take that measurement. NO reports. NO dashboards. NO way to determine what's happening.

This is a request to 1) See the flaw in expecting a goal like this to be achieved without providing an automated way - through family search - for ward leaders to measure, and 2) Develop reporting and an on line dashboard for anyone in the ward leadership to see the ward as a whole, and their auxiliary and organization specifically, with some standard KPI

For example, #\% people, #\% with Family Search ids, #\% with 4 gens entered, #\% with temple work for the 4 gens done, #\% Partially done, and then these figures graphed out over time (Shapshot of #\% for ward as a while for each month, then a breakdown by auxiliary. For the Aux leaders, the ability to drive down into those numbers to see, by name, who is and isn't doing the work)

I don't foresee anyone using this as a tool to harm or otherwise shame anyone into doing the work. Rather, I see this as a tool to determine where we as ward leaders should focus our efforts - and provides those who have been tasked with this rather impossible goal, to at least move forward towards that goal in the most effective way possible.

I see this as a missed requirement; the needs of the ward.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

I think there are some family history reports on Leader and Clerk Resources. Have you checked there?

Where does this program originate from? If it's local level, I don't think the church is responsible for creating the report. Local leaders need to consider what resources are available.

If it's from CHQ, then ask them about reports.

Another possibility is this is a pilot program, perhaps bring implemented by a stake that's not part of the pilot.

Either way, I'd push back to whoever is pushing the program.

A Family History Activity Report is in beta at LCR now and will become available to ward and stake leaders when LCR version 4.1 is released, which is scheduled for next month (June), probably late in the month.

From the top, Church-wide.

The program usually takes off faster than the supporting infrastructure, but the official reporting support is coming along quickly. I do not know if the report will be quite as detailed as some would wish, but it will go a long way toward answering many of the questions that have been asked recently.

I had access to the family history reports for a little less than a week on the Leader and Clerk Resources beta, then I moved to a different stake. I didn't explore enough to give a detailed summary, but they looked really useful.
