What are the new ones that FM has to order?

All of ours are the HP p2015d.

One has died and FM is going to order a new one but could not tell me which model.

Since the FM group is responsible for supplying a printer for each administrative computer, we've always gotten them through the FM group.

We have recently received a Xerox Phaser 3250, same as JohnShaw reported.

If you get this one, be sure to check it out before using. Some wards in our stake did not notice the feed is different - and printed some blank checks upside down (and out of order).

I just feed checks one at a time through the door. Face up top in.

As was stated, FMG is responsible for these. In my Stake the Stake Budget was paying for them (though I didn't know that), and it was my first very naive battle with Stake PFR and FMG when I produced the Clerk computer policy with the correct portion identified, they still tried to dance around it. That's what happens when you identify something that someone else is doing wrong. I was new, identified the correct procedure from the policy, and attempted to follow a procedure we had in place. Anyway... Don't pay for them out of the budget.... FMG is supposed to have one on hand at all times that they can distribute pretty quickly while they order a replacement for their on-hand inventory.

Also, they typically do not pay for extended warranties, so after a year, they will typically order a new one rather than pay for a service call when/if they break.

This is true, as long as the unit is OK accepting the FMG's standard issue printer, which (as others have reported) is currently the Xerox Phaser 3250.

About 18 months ago, we had a ward that needed a multifunction laser printer to not only handle MLS printing needs, but also for making quick copies. After doing some research, we settled on a $130 Panasonic KX-MB2010 from Amazon.com. It was reasonably priced and has a single-sheet feed for checks. This was purchased using their budget funds (with stake approval) and so far it has performed very well, saving them countless trips to the far end of the building to make one or two copies.

If you choose to do this, you are on your own for support, drivers, compatibility, service, warranty claims, and so on. And just so you know, the FMG will not provide a "credit" towards the purchase of something they don't normally provide.

:DOur FM Group has provided our clerks with multifunction laser printers for each of our clerks when we request with the need to have a copier in the clerk's office.

One more example of misuse of Budget funds. Budget funds are there to use for ward supply expenses and activities. $130 is 1/2 the cost for camp, or all the Pinewood Derby cars for the Cub Scouts.

There is a reason computer costs come out of different money besides Budget funds.
