member status is incorrect on IOS
On a member's record as well as on his wife's record, all of the ordinance dates including baptism, confirmation and priesthood offices are correct. He and she are members of the Church. When I print their IOS forms, the Present Spouse section for each of them shows Member NO. Has anyone seen that before and if so how is that to be corrected?

It sounds like the marriage records are not linked to each other but just entered as non-member information. I think if you try to fix either record yourself it will tell you that the other person is already married and won't do it. And it would create an incorrect marriage history (something that isn't visible in LCR but does exist at CHQ) if you terminated the marriages first. So I think you need to contact Local Unit Support and ask them to fix it.

Thank you. I contacted them. They said that they will push down our membership data base. That should reset our data. They suggested that it might also be a browser problem. They suggested using Chrome but we were already using that. I like your answer eblood66. I will keep the forum posted on the outcome.

Were you printing from MLS or LCR? If MLS, then perhaps it was a data corruption error and database refresh might help. But if it's LCR then that doesn't make any sense. LCR works directly on the main membership database at CHQ and there is nothing to push there.jbuhl68 wrote:They said that they will push down our membership data base. That should reset our data.
That also does not make sense. If you're using MLS then there is no browser involved. If you're using LCR then the IOS is generated server side so the browser isn't involved either. I sounds like they were just going by an general problem solving script.jbuhl68 wrote:They suggested that it might also be a browser problem.
The question is really then, is the data correct and the marriage linked correctly? If so, then there is a bug in the IOS generation which should be logged. If not, then support needs to fix the data rather than doing general troubleshooting.
In LCR, find the member profile for each of the members (using Membership > Member List from the menu) and then select the Family tab. Look in the Spouse section. Is the spouses name a link? If so, then they are recorded as a member and are correctly linked to the spouses membership number. In that case if the IOS shows as the spouse as non-member then there is a bug in the system which needs to be fixed.
On the other hand, if the spouse is not a link and the title above their name says 'Spouse (nonmember)' then the marriage is not linked correctly and needs to be fixed by CHQ.
Please do. And maybe our friendly neighborhood LCR developer might notice this and chime in about whether I'm off-base about the support persons suggestions.jbuhl68 wrote:I will keep the forum posted on the outcome.

Your assessment is pretty accurate. It sounds like the support person didn't fully understand what was being asked.eblood66 wrote:And maybe our friendly neighborhood LCR developer might notice this and chime in about whether I'm off-base about the support persons suggestions.
I would look at the LCR Family tab on both member records. In the Marriage section, look to see whether the entry says "Spouse (Nonmember)". If both records say that, they are not correctly linked. In that case, call or email the GSC again and tell them that it appears the spouses are not correctly linked to each other. If the records don't say "Spouse (Nonmember)", there is a different issue that needs to be addressed.
