List of All Standard Callings

#1

Post by Hilohi »

Is there a way in MLS or LCR to print a list of all standard callings (even if they're not occupied)?

Having a such a list would be very helpful to us when trying to find a calling for someone.

From MLS you can copy the list of standard positions available in that program to a spreadsheet by using the procedure found in Export list of standard positions.

In LCR, the Callings by Organization report shows everyone who has a calling, and for the standard callings that are "not occupied" you'll see the name of the calling and "calling vacant".

The directions on MLS as provided above do not give adequate instructions and do not show the full list of callings. My view only shows 3 callings and I'm not able to select Find Nearest Match. I'm sure there must be an empty Ward Calling Spreadsheet somewhere in internet somewhere. I think MLS should have an easier way to do this - like a single button.

With the move of managing callings from MLS to LCR, most of the callings functions such as that linked to in my post (posted before the conversion to LCR) may no longer be available. Instead, use the LCR Organizations > Callings > Callings by Organization menu to see what standard positions are not being filled.

There is no easy way to get a list of all standard callings through the LCR Organizations listing but you can use the "All Organizations" listing and then scroll through each organization, see what standard positions are filled, and then click the "Add Another Calling" link and the "Select a calling..." drop-down list box to see what standard positions are available to be filled in each organization. Note that some standard positions may be already filled but can have more than one member serving in that position such as "Ward Assistant Clerk".

Thank you very much for this. Unfortunately, It still wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I was hoping there was something quick or existing that showed all of the callings in a spreadsheet so that we, as a Bishopric could not only just see the list of who is in those callings, but have the ability to the empty callings and supply names of those who we are considering. We believe this would help us fill our callings. With a little help from another clerk, I was able to copy and past the current list from the LDS website into my spreadsheet (I was experiencing a user-error when I wasn't successful on my first attempts). But here is what I created. I'm sure some units will have different callings, but I think this will be a good starting point. Hopefully this will help others.
