Is there a requirement for witnesses to an Aaronic Priesthood ordination, as there is for a Melchizedek Priesthood ordination?
We have a case where a father ordained his sons at home (after interview with the bishop and sustaining in Sacrament Meeting). There is no witness requirement listed on the form, but who should verify that the father performed the ordination properly?

Re: Ordination witnesses
Looking over Handbook 2: Section 20, I only see witness mentioned in conjunction with baptism. Nothing at all is mentioned about it for an Aaronic Priesthood ordination.

Re: Ordination witnesses
There is no requirement for it, but in these situations it is good if a member of the bishopric can be in the home to make sure the ordinance is performed properly and then recorded on the records of the Church. If no one was there except the father, you almost have to take his word on when the ordination took place and that is was performed properly. Or if the father had another friend there to help him perform the ordination, the bishop has a second witness there, as well.drepouille wrote:who should verify that the father performed the ordination properly?
