A family in our ward recently adopted a child. We changed the last name of the children, but the father is still listed as the birth father.
How do we change the parent to be the adoptive father?

Just find the child's Member Profile in LCR, click on the Family tab and then click on the pencil icon to the right of the father's name.

Re: Changing birth parent to adoptive parent
Just to be sure: the system can only record one set of parents. Adoptive parents will displace the birth parents. So, the way to change things is to edit the parents on the child's record.
The adoptive parents shouldn't be recorded until the adoption is final.

Thank you. The adoption is final so we'll go with the edit. It's frustrating, as the stake clerk, because I can't see many of these edit controls.

Exactly. The stake clerk is supposed to train the ward clerks, but can't see the same view as they can. Likewise, the stake president has access to sites that the stake clerk does not, so the clerk can't assist the president.
