I also would like to know if there is any update? Is there a way for parents and leaders to see the progress of the Young Men?

Is there an update on tracking for YM Duty to God (or definitive word from LDS Technology employees that it will not happen)?

It is unlikely that we can expect a response from someone at CHQ through this forum. I would suggest submitting feedback through the LDS.org Submit Feedback link. Getting a response from that method is low also. But at least the right people will get the feedback whereas there is less chance they will get the feedback through this forum.

The personal progress reports are so cool!! We desperately need this same functionality for the Duty to God.

I'm new to DtG, and have never seen the online PP leader tracking.
What specifically would a leader track in DtG? I don't think the instructions indicate that the young man's journal entries would be reviewed by anyone else and, other than the signatures at the end of the "Spiritual Strength" and "Priesthood Duties" sections, there is no recording of completing activities. Even the leader signatures there don't signify a review of what the young man recorded in the book or a catalog of requirements, but that they have had a conversation about his plans and how they have helped him.
I've read several threads here about a possible leader tracking function, and I am wondering if the absence of it is intentional, to avoid the reduction of the DtG program to an index of tasks to check off.

This is very insightful. I believe that the lack of a proper tracking tool in Duty to God right now is at least in part because of the structure of the program.

As leader working with young men, I am always wondering which young men are working on DTG. Without having an overview of what the young men are working on it creates more task related work for leaders. If leaders could see in an overview of the program they can now spend their time helping those who are not yet engaged and in planning activities that cater to the DTG needs of each quorum.

You can see an overview at this location.

https://www.lds.org/young-men/duty-to-god?lang=eng

All it takes is being familiar with the program, interaction with the youth to see where they are(I think they call it a Scoutmasters Conference), and the youth planning the activities (Its called Quorum Presidency Meeting). I know I make it sound simple, but it really is simple all the leader needs to do learns the YM program (which include DTG and Scouting), and help the youth leaders magnify their calling. That's why the calling is called a YMs adviser.

A little off subject but I feel it all goes hand in hand and if you don't treat it that way the program will fail.
