Did you get acces to this yet? I have the same question. I'm assistant WML and I need access too.

I am in the same boat only I don't have a lot of the inter working knowledge of computers. I would love to see a digital solution for the ward area book. I started working with a third party crm, but hit a wall of sorts when it came to adding teaching records. If I can be of assistance in any way please let me know

I think that MLS doesn't have a standard calling for "Assistant Ward Mission Leader," even though it is mentioned as a possibility in the handbook. I would suspect you are either in a custom MLS calling called "Assistant Ward Mission Leader," or you were assigned the calling "Missionary - Ward", neither of which would allow you to access Leader and Clerk Resources (leader.lds.org).

Please grant access rights for the Progress record for Assistant Mission Leader, as the position includes the name "Leader" he should have Leadership access rights.

The forum is primarily user to user support. There is no one that I know of who has this decision authority that visits the forum. I am guessing the Priesthood Department would be the department to contact to make this input. By using the feedback link on LDS.org you can get this suggestion to the proper people.

Is this person in a standard position or a custom one? Looking at a year-old list, I'm not seeing that as a standard position.

Custom positions have no rights on-line, regardless of what it's called. I don't see that changing - ever.

However, the last paragraph of Handbook 2: 5.1.3 does mention "assistant ward mission leader". So, assuming you can't put the assistant into a standard position, your best option is to use the feedback link on the main lds.org page and ask for the creation of the position of "assistant ward mission leader" and grant it the proper on-line rights. However, it will take some time for this to happen. In part as it would have to go past review. So I'd make alternative plans for the time being.

Assistant Ward Mission Leader is one of the new/updated callings mentioned in the MLS message a couple of weeks ago.

But those callings aren't "in play" yet, right?

I believe that's correct, but I'm not sure.

So if Falasha waits, he may get his wish. Just make sure to change the calling to a standard position when it becomes available.
