Do I need Wirecast?

#1

Post by weldon »

We haven't received our Vidiu encoder yet (still backordered from June), so I'm looking into alternatives for our upcoming stake conference. I see that a wirecast license is available on the lds materials store online. If I were to buy that license and use it with a computer, can I send that stream to the church streaming servers that I reserve in the event portal?

Will I still need that wirecast license when the Vidiu encoder shows up? I assume that functionality is built-in and doesn't require a license.

There is a free Wirecast Play product available. What features would the church provided license give us?

Anything else I need to know about Wirecast?

Thanks!

Wirecast is way to complex, a novice can download, install, setup and broadcast in under ten minute with OBS. (Yes I timed it.)

I ended up using the free Wirecast Play for YouTube to run our last Stake Conference. Worked great.
