Margin change on Microsoft surface

I have been playing with option to change the margin spacing. I really like the feature for reading. However, I noticed that the margin spacing also affects all of the menus. If the margin spacing is set to "small" or "very small" some the icons are moved off the screen on the left side. For "very small", all icons on the left side are moved almost completely off-screen.

It is not a big issue since I just need to reset the margin spacing to "normal" to view everything in the menus, but it would be smoother user experience if the margin function did not affect the menus.
