Multiple Translating Sets

In our stake, we have a Spanish Branch and a Hmong Branch in addition to the English speaking wards. We just had Stake Conference where having both sets just did not work well. We have found that the antennae also needs to be higher up in order to broadcast with less static. My question is what can we do to prevent bleeding over of the languages. We have tried having one at 72.2 and the other at 75.9 to try and see if that works. It didn't really help. Any ideas would be appreciated.

It doesn't help that your hearing impaired system (part of the chapel sound system) runs about 72.0 MHz.

It sounds like the receivers can't distinguish between channels that well. (Or else they're having problems tuning them.) You may have to seat them in sections and put the transmitter closest to that section. Due to "capture effect", a receiver will "lock on" to the strongest signal it hears.

What brand are you using? Williams Sound?

We are using William Sound. We had the Doanish Branch in our last Stake Conference sit in a room but the translator was in the cultural hall about 30 feet away from the Hming translators. Maybe we need to have Hmong in one room, Spanish in another room and have the translators in their respective rooms. Thanks for the help.

So the transmitter wasn't with the the bulk of the listeners? Depending on the construction of the building, the transmitter may not have much of a range. Getting it in the same room as the listeners would be a big help.
