Gaining Line of Authority

#1

Post by colbyj »

Hi,
I recently ordained a young man to the office of Elder. I told him I would provide him with his line of authority.

How may I get a LOA for myself and then one for him?
I sent an email to: lineofauthority@ldschurch.org

but have received no response.
appreciate any assistance.

Thank you,

That is the correct email to make the request. You need to send an email to that address with 'PLA' as the only thing in the subject. You should quickly get back an email with more detailed instructions and a form to request your line of authority. Once you submit the request according to the instructions you should receive a response within a week. Mine took about 2 days but I expect it could be longer if they have to do any research to complete the line.
