If you look at both what is displayed in Lesson Schedules and in the printed copy that the number is the day of the month rather than the lesson number. The title is the name of the event. These events are there as a reminder to users that there is no lesson because an event has taken the place of the lesson.ibapah wrote:Also, off topic and there may be other posts about this, but why would we ever have a lesson number and name populated for General Conference dates?

Also, note that General Conference dates aren't necessarily the same worldwide. Yes, General Conference occurs on only one weekend in April and one in October, but in some places the issues of language translation and time zones combine to make it impossible for units to observe general conference on the same day as most of the world. So there needs to be some flexibility even for general conference.
