Viewing 2 unit's organizations

Our ward and branch meet together for Primary and YM/YW. Is it possible for our Primary President, for example, to view the Branch's children in primary? The presidency is actually set apart as the presidency of the ward AND Branch. Seems to me there should be a way to set this up. The Branch's children are under the Ward's stewardship... and sometimes vice versa.

A member called to positions in more than one unit can view the Directory for each unit in which they have been called. There will be one unit in which the member has their records. This unit has only to enter the member with the calling position into MLS and do a send/receive to transmit the calling to CDOL. Once in CDOL it should appear in the Directory.

It is in the other unit that an out of unit record must be created in that unit's MLS before the member can be selected from the list of unit members for the calling in that unit. For priesthood holders the out of unit record must include ordination record information. After the MLS send/receive is transmitted to CDOL then the member should appear in the list of leaders. In this case in the sister will appear in the list of leaders in Primary. She should then be able to see the Directory for the unit in which she is serving.

When the Directory is opened the member's home unit, the unit with the membership record, will be the default unit. The member will have to select the unit in which she is serving in the Directory in the list of units at the top of the left column. This is the same for any member of a stake wishing to view the Directory of another unit in their stake. For a member serving in a unit outside their stake they will see the addition of their service unit to the list of units.

It is the online access to websites and applications that the out of unit leader will see additional access. This access may take as little as a few minutes or as long as a couple of days after the send/receive from MLS, depending on the system to which the out of unit leader should have access .

In Leader and Clerk Resources the out of unit Primary President should have access to the Primary rolls just as she has as the Primary President in the home ward.

You are able to do this not only for the Primary president, but for her counselors and secretary if needed. Leaders will need to weigh the extra work of adding an out of unit member, but we normally do it for the presidency and secretary.

We have the same situation with our YM and YW leaders because we support a Spanish-speaking branch with English-speaking Primary, Sunday School, Young Men, and Young Women. In fact, some members of each presidency are from the ward, and some are from the branch, so we load out of unit members both ways.
