Adding my address to the directory

Sorry if this sounds silly, but my full address isn't listed on the ward directory. I just moved into my new ward. Will they eventually add my full address or is there something I can do to add it? I've tried looking at the "edit" options but it only edits who can see my information. I've also looked at the other options and, while it says we can change the information, it doesn't have a link or say how.

Being new to the ward, I'd like others to know where I live within the ward. Thanks for your help.

I would first check with your Ward Clerk, that your full and correct address are entered in MLS.

If your records have literally been moved in in the last day or so, the various Church servers involved can take awhile to update. However if some of your details are visible, in the Directory, then the above scenario is your best course of action.

While you cannot edit your address you can edit contact information. The implementation of the edit function is misleading or not intuitive because each blue "Edit" link is found on the same line and immediately after the visibility setting. This gives the impression that edit link is only for the visibility setting. But that link does allow a user to edit one or more editable items depending on what is being edited. The household address edit link, the "Show on Map" edit link, and all the photos edit links only edit the privacy, or visibility, setting. The contact information edit links allow the user to not only edit the privacy setting but also the piece of contact information just above the edit link. The contact information that can be edited is the household phone number and household e-mail address as well as individual phone number and e-mail address.

As Biggles stated, members cannot edit the household address. Those with membership edit rights and responsibilities such as the ward clerk and ward membership clerk can edit the household address either in MLS or in Clerk Resources online. It is very unlikely members will ever be given the ability to edit their address.

The contact information can be edited by clicking the edit link and then editing the contact information presented. For example if you want to change your personal telephone number then you click the blue edit link for your personal telephone number. When the popup appears for your personal telephone number click in the light colored (white?) text box below the bold "Phone number" title where the number is displayed and edit. When the box is clicked the color will change. To learn more about editing your profile click the blue "Learn more" link on the popup. Or you can click the "Help" button on the top right of the page on the same line as the word "Directory" appears.
