Family Divided - names and information do not match church records

I have been trying to get the information fixed online and then on the LDS Tools app but all my efforts have been fruitless up until now. I verified, at one point, that my wife's last name matched mine and then waited a few months for it to replicate to the Android App, but now when I checked it, it has changed back. I verified with the clerk that his information is accurate so why isn't my wife listed with me on the directory with my last name? Also, if we're married, wouldn't her children be listed with us if her ex husband is no longer a member?

Only if her children have records and are grouped in your household.

if they appear under my wife, can I safely assume that once her and I are grouped together that her children will be under our household?

That is correct.

Alright. Then if I double check with the ward clerk to verify that our records are correct on his end, what do I need to do so that members finding us on the LDS Tools app see the same information my ward clerk is seeing?

The first quesiton is if the informaiton is correct in the directory. I know the developers are going to push out a new update soon that fixes problems when the two parents have different last names.

Looking over the thread, it's not clear to me if the on-line directory is correct or not. Does the on-line directory show you with the correct last names?

I have the correct information and so do the children, but the information displayed for my wife is not correct. Because of this, when you drill down into the app, it has her listed under a household with her old name and not with me.

daveepperson86, when you look at the data online (http://www.lds.org/directory), is the information for your household correct? If not, can you tell me what exactly is wrong there? Knowing what is happening there vs. in LDSTools can help me know if the problem is in the data, or the application. If you need to include names, etc. to illustrate what you are seeing, feel free to PM the information to me.

jdcr256 may be able to help you, but it's possible that the clerk will need to call Local Unit Support to find out why the changes he made in MLS isn't getting to the directory.

Note that the clerk has to make sure that your wife's legal name and preferred name is correct in MLS. It's not sufficient to simply say she's married to you.

well, I am happy to report that after updating my app just now and resynchronizing, the information online matches the information on the app. Now I probably need to talk to a clerk to get the records cleared up.
