Finally got it to work. I deleted Several large apps and LDS Gospel Library was able to open. Afterwards, I was able to restore the apps that I removed.

Had the same issue on iPad Mini with current iOS but self-resolved on third attempt to load. While it was trying to open, I noticed the home screen was different, and realized there was a very recent upgrade (I skipped reading the scriptures Friday and Saturday). Once it loaded, I gave it a brief test. I like the new features.

My wife's Windows phone also had the crashing on start problem but cured itself after the second uninstall-reinstallation.

I received another TestFlight email at 7:04 this morning. I followed your directions precisely. I get the instruction page, it goes to a white page and says it is updating, then it crashes. I took it to my son, thinking maybe I'm doing something incorrect, but it didn't work for him either. Am I having difficulty because I wasn't able to enter the code at the first invitation? I checked my iPad, it is currently updated to iOS 9.3.5. I have become very accustomed to reading my scriptures on this device. I don't know what to do. Thank you for your assistance.

Ipad mini ios 9.3.5 (too old for ios 10)
Like others lds gospel library goes wierd on startup.
I ran 'pad info' app while trying to get library to work.
Gospel library seems to be running out of memory.
Looks like it is using all available memory and wants more.

I had the same issue on my iPad 2. But then when I cleaned out all of the apps in background mode which take up a lot of memory(you can see them by double-clicking the home button) the new Gospel Library came right up and is functioning well -- for now.

CLEAR OUT YOUR BACKGROUND APPS! It should come up OK then.

I too can not get it to launch. It crashes after home screen of Moroni. But if I double click on home button - I see a library screen behind and if a switch over to it, it will display where I was before the auto update happened and then it closes again. But if I double click on the home button, the library app will still be there. I have closed the library app and then tried re-launching it but it still crashes.

You might try closing all of the other apps, also. They are also using memory.

Me too. Upgraded to 10.2, rebooted, closed ALL other apps. Still no go. Looks like some kind of issue with SqlLite:

I am having the same problem with the Moroni picture coming up, then a line coming down from the top of the screen informing me "Updating Gospel Library". The screen then turns white and goes back to my iPad main icon screen. Really frustrating! When I go to my updates page, it shows it has finished updating and shows "open". When I try to access this way, the same thing is happening.
