Recover Lost Tags, Notes, and Annotations

I recently upgraded to version 5.2.1 of GL for Android from an early version (4.4?) because I couldn't sychronize my 2541 notes created since October 2018, the last time I sychronized. After the upgrade all of he 2541 notes created since October 2018 are missing. Are they any options for recovery? Are the old files still lingering in some cache somewhere in the private SQL database that GL uses? Is there any hope for the restotaration of my gospel library?
