Yes, good points. I already have a note in our weekly ward bulletin (have had for about a year - and change it from time to time to keep it from getting stale).

Thanks for all the suggestions. I don't have a "Need" to know, but thought this might be good information to share with the Bishopric. Our bishop is starting to push people to access online information rather than kill trees at the Clerk's Office and Library. Portable devices (i.e. I-Pad-type) have ...

As a ward clerk you have the ability to correct all the markers for your ward, and to upload pictures for all families. Yes, I am aware of that and have corrected about 90% of the addresses (the rest will require me to get in the car to drive to those where other mapping sites are unclear and I don...

Who in the Ward has an LDS.org account?

Is there a way for a clerk to tell who in the ward has set-up their lds.org account? This would be helpful to know how adept the ward is in general in accessing the new online tools. In speaking with individuals, there seems to be genuine interest in the tools, but I suspect the interest is not comm...

Related to this is for the Stake to add all Stake Callings in Stake MLS. I have numerous members of our ward assigned custom positions (Seminary Teacher, Stake Aux presidency member, etc) because they are still not showing up as a Stake-assigned calling. In looking last week, I did spot 2 that are n...

We as a ward don't distribute a printed directory. I was merely making suggestions to the OP on how to compact what is available on the new directory. I personally would not use the direct print from the directory. Instead I would export the directory and manipulate the results. And, no - I don't c...

The other option is to flag the record to instruct the new unit to contact the prior Bishop. When you do that, the new unit receives the Bishop's contact information so they can call for details regarding the member. This is normally for disciplinary council issues, but I suppose could be used for o...

OOOH... Mouse-type (smallest font, 6 columns). Don't you get complaints from your older members that they cannot read it?

But in countries where that is a legal requirement, the church has no other option.

I think I may have a different problem. In the Manage Photos page, the x placeholder is displayed. In all other pages, including the household page, nothing is displayed (just the "generic person" outline when nothing has been uploaded). Is it possible he may have used a photo format that is incompa...
