Re: App's for Duty to God progress tracking?

With recent BSA developments, we should probably be putting more emphasis on DTG and/or provide better tools to enable local leaders, like myself, to implement it. I don't think you should be putting any more emphasis on DTG or Scouting than you do the other. And while I don't speak for the Brethre...

Re: fast offerings

Does anyone have any insights into the purpose of sending priesthood holders to collect fast offerings? Too give members a chance to donate who may other wise not have that opportunity. As a previous ward fiance clerk I can testify that there was an increase in Fast Donations when we sent people ou...

Re: Attendance Sheets

Whoever answers these questions does not provide much help. When someone is asking "how" I would expect an answer that reflects information such as: The Question asked was: I would like to know how to print blank class attendance rolls for specific classes. The Answer was: There is no lon...

Re: Requested Feature in Clerk Resources Online

If you know the mother's name and the new ward why not call the ward clerk of the new ward and get the mothers address so you can send the record with all the needed information. Other wise the Bishop of the new ward will not know how to contact the family. The new ward has no way of knowing that th...

Re: App's for Duty to God progress tracking?

There is a great program called Scoutbook that not only keeps track of scouting advancements but Duty to God and Faith in God as well. Its designed so that leaders, parents, and YM can view or update requirements with leaders approving them upon completion.

Re: Recording Baptism and Conf Performed By Out-of-unit Memb

Its required to record the record. While it may not show up in MLS or on the member print out. They are recorded in the churches records in Church Headquarters. Not everything on a members record is viewable in MLS.

Re: Best Fundraising Ideas

- Relatively little support from the boys who were going to camp. They practically showed up 15 minutes before the dinner with a plate of brownies and served as waiters during the dinner bringing plates to and from the kitchen/serving area This would be because the YM Presidency and the Scout Commi...

Re: Member wants to donate flat screens...

Or it means the wards are at the mercy of the FM Group. I'm not a fan of the fact we can't get independently verify what rules the FMG has to follow. There's no check and balance. Hopefully it means the wards and stakes will have to stay within the bounds of the funding sources and stop using LUBA ...

Re: FM Group and TV's and Libraries

(See D&C 46:2 which refers to conducting meetings, but which was quoted in reference to handbooks in a leadership broadcast for Stake Presidents about 10 years ago.) I think using D&C 46:2 is a stretch for this discussing as it talks specifically about meetings. Interesting how we all get a...

Re: FM Group and TV's and Libraries

This seems to indicate (to me at least) that purchasing AV equipment with local budget funds is not prohibited and that the FM group should only worry about the equipment they provide and that local units are (completely) responsible (including for repair or replacement) for equipment they purchase...
