Leaders balking at sending records to Address Unknown

Something I am encountering as I conduct membership audits, is ward and branch leaders who are reluctant to send records out to Address Unknown - even after completing the nine steps the Brethren have laid out. Re: When and How do you count attendance in sacrament?

It seems to be hard enough for some clerks to get the report in every quarter.

Re: Name change when adding marriage

Also remember that when you change a name on the record (to post a marriage, for instance), the preferred names don't change. You have to change that separately. My stake has a handful of sisters where the marriage or divorce is posted but the preferred name hasn't been fixed, and also a few where t...

A real GIS system can generate geocodes, but I've never found a way to plug them directly into MLS. What I've settled on is overlaying existing ward boundaries, school districts, and census tracts (which include county and state lines), then generalizing the slivers (anything less than a hectare or ...

I once sent a letter by certified mail and it got kicked back because no one ever answered the door.

Or a ward with a lot of apartments. That one didn't put the ward newsletter in the foyer - it mailed it out quarterly. I always got five to ten of them back with new addresses.

Re: How to use Postal Service to find a forwarding address?

How much might the cost be, say, at the stake level? About the same or that many times more?

Re: Lost Sheep: Contacting Family Listed in a Membership Rec

I work for my county, so I can do that by name - at work. I can also access the county Recorder of Deeds site for buying/selling history. For the two counties my stake primarily lies in, it's possible for anyone to do that by address. If the member used to own the property and has sold it, you know ...
