That is a feature of the BIOS not the OS and has been used on PC since 1980! However it has lost popularity in the consumer market as a whole. You are more likely to find it on older computers than newer one.

I think it would be wise to have the 4 to 5 hours be on any day BUT SUNDAY! Sunday is a VERY busy day for Church computers and trying to ADD maintenance and update task on Sunday would just add to the overloaded servers.

My clerks that have had TEM installed on their computers have ALL said how much quicker the computer boots and runs since TEM has been maintaining the computer. Not sure what was changed but CHQ has done a GREAT job with resolving Boot time and over all running of MLS !

Yes they can use the "my ancestors:" section and can build a pedigree just like a member can. Yes they use it to sign in to MOST sites that ask for an LDS account sign-in. Seems to be some sort of routing problem related to LDS.org. The familySearch.org and this site both use the same authentication server and are working, there for it seems to be related ONLY to the handshaking between the servers. IF you don't sign-in all open links work.
