Re: Clerk Computer Provisioning / No Sophos

Actually, Sophos did not turn off the Windows firewall, the provisioning tool did. After installing Sophos, Windows 10 does not see it as a firewall and continues to complain that the firewall is turned off. On further investigation I discovered that Sophos includes something they are calling the &q...

Re: Clerk Computer Provisioning / No Sophos

Also, now that I have manually installed sophos endpoint protection, should I turn windows firewall back on? From what I can see it does not appear that Sophos endpoint protection includes a firewall. Sophos status > about shows Core agent 2.3.0, Endpoint advanced 10.8.3.441, Sophos Intercept X 2.0....

Clerk Computer Provisioning / No Sophos

My last experience with the provisioning process (Mar 25 2019) is that it does not install Sophos. When I used it on a different computer a month ago, Sophos was installed, although it may have been BigFix doing it after the fact, as I was not paying that much attention to what was installed in the ...

IE 11 rendering issue / portal interaction

I'm having an issue, where if the portal is enabled in IE 11 (Options > Connections > Lan Settings > Use automatic configuration script is selected) then familysearch.org renders as a list of links with the "Make Connections", "Share a Memory" etc images that normally appear in a...

Re: Locking down FHC computers

Oops, I guess I just assumed patron was an administrative user (just as clerk is on clerk computers). They are currently standard users. The computers are all running Win 7 enterprise. The FHC director want all 6 computers to look exactly alike to patrons, They don't want different desktop backgroun...

Locking down FHC computers

I have seen a couple of posts on the forum that indicate that rather than use deep-freeze, some STSs lock-down FHC computers. My FHC director is getting tired of user initiated configuration changes to the FHC computers and has asked me to implement deep-freeze, but I would prefer to use the lock-do...

Re: Recent OBS use / audio settings

It was worst from 3:00 -- 5:00 PST on mhw2-west5, although I thought I switched to stereo (at the suggestion of support), but then, when frazzled, I may not have restarted OBS. The evening session (6:00 -- 8:00) was tolerable at 160 Kbps audio, but the speaker frequency was noticeably elevated. That...

Recent OBS use / audio settings

Has anyone used OBS recently? I used it without a problem about 6 months ago, but my most recent use had audio issues. My previous audio setting was for a mono 32 kbps stream. This resulted in the streamed audio sounding like a chipmunk effect had been applied. Moving to 160 kbps seemed to improve t...
