Re: Windows XP being blocked?

Thank you for all of the helpful suggestions. I'll work with the member to see if any of them help. However, given that he uses his Windows XP laptops (three of them) at many other public WiFi locations and that they worked just fine with the Church network until just a few weeks ago, I'm not sure t...

Windows XP being blocked?

I have a member who is unable to connect his Windows XP based laptop to the LDS Access WiFi in any of our buildings. He used to be able to do that, and his laptop will connect properly at many "public" WiFi locations, but just not at our church buildings. It's not just at our stake either;...

RTMP URL not reachable

This past weekend we had our Stake Conference. We used the portal.ldswebcast.org system to schedule our Saturday Adult session and Sunday General session several weeks ago. We shared the direct access code with our bishops so that shut-in members and missionary couples serving around the world could...

Re: Chromebook as webcast receiving device

Just to follow up on this topic, we had our Stake Conference this past weekend, and I did use the Chrome laptop at one of my receiving sites. It worked very well to receive the broadcast. However, I discovered that the Church infrastructure for the broadcast doesn't recognize Chrome as far as gather...

Re: Old Webcaster solution go-dead date?

I would like some info on what others have done to convert current infrastructure to hd. I know that the church is pushing the vidiu, but that is an hd signal (even though it is downscaled for streaming to other buidings). The problem is our stake center is sd with rca jacks. The simplest solution ...

Re: Chromebook as webcast receiving device

Point well taken. If I were suggesting this for a system used daily for production work I think it would be an issue worth clarifying with the vendor. Personally, I think use on a system twice a year for receiving a stake conference broadcast would meet the definition of "experimental use"...

Re: Chromebook as webcast capture device

We've been using a couple of Acer notebook PCs to receive our stake conference webcasts for several years. The hardware is still in pretty good shape because they don't get a lot of use, but they are now 7-8 years old and are running Windows Vista. I used them for our fall 2015 stake conference unde...

Re: Out of Unit Leaders

Our stake has two dependent branches where we have a total of about 50 people that have "out of unit" assignments to serve in those branches. On lds.org and in LDS Tools for Android they appear correctly as members of their home wards and holding out of unit callings in the branches. Howev...
