Re: Webcast without a receiving building?

OK, thanks for the feedback. @russellhltn that quote from the handbook is more direct. The verbiage in the "Webcast Policies" page here: https://www.lds.org/help/support/webcast-policies-and-guidelines?lang=eng seems more ambiguous to me, which is why I wasn't sure. I'll talk to the stake ...

Webcast without a receiving building?

I was just asked to broadcast a Christmas program this Sunday. This is a ward event, but was requested by the Stake President due to some special circumstances. However, it would not be a building-to-building broadcast, it would be intended to allow some members to view the program that cannot atten...

Lesson Schedule Administrators?

Can anyone clarify who has administrative rights to edit lesson schedules? Specifically, do instructors have adminstrative rights? The help center article on LDS.org is unclear and out of date: "Note: In the next release of Lesson Schedules (expected around the first week of 2013, class instruc...

VGA Distribution

We just moved into a brand new stake center which is equipped with the standard "bare bones" A/V installation. One of the many limitations that I need to overcome quickly is how to get VGA to the rear screens in the cultural hall, and maybe even the overflow rooms. Our stake frequently uses powerpoi...

A reboot solves most of our problems. Aside from that, the only thing I've seen are the usual temporary signal losses, and an occasional satellite receiver misconfiguration that Salt Lake has to fix on their end. However, if you're writing a guide, there are a lot of things that an operator can do t...

Anyone had luck using ePub scriptures on Nook?

We just got a new Nook and are loving it. I was excited to load the Book of Mormon and Bible (ePub format, downloaded from the Wiki). But I was disappointed that they didn't work. I can read through one page at a time, but if I try to go to a specific chapter using the bookmarks, it crashes the devi...

Our broadcast signal often loses some color and appears washed out. However in our case I believe it has more to do with our building distribution systems than the actual broadcast. In any case, we usually just end up adjusting the color settings on the projector at the receiving location. However, ...

Thanks for your responses. That link is very helpful, and may work for what I need to do. I suspect the event organizers may have over-estimated the age of the commercials they were looking for. So those will probably do just fine.

Old Mormon Commercials

I am tasked with putting together a multimedia presentation for a stake event, and I need to find several of those old Mormon commercials from the 70's & 80's. I'm not looking for the newer Mormon.org commercials, I need the older cheezy ones. You know the ones I'm talking about... There are a lot o...

I’ve always wondered about what was under the hood of these things too and have always been curious to open one of these up. I didn't notice that Russell had also gone and made some measurements, but last week this thread got me thinking about it. So I took some measurements at work the other day th...
