Re: Calendar 3.0 released

Should have thought about this sooner: Under the gear icon, click on "Date Options". Also, I'd check what your OS time zone settings are set at. The old calendar system pulled the time zone from the computer. I'm not sure what the current one uses for the default. Already checked Date opt...

Re: Calendar 3.0 released

I’ll let someone confirm but I believe that each building has a time zone attached to it. That is correct. Have your calendar administrator go to “Locations and Resources”, then choose the building and on the next page you will see the time zone for that building. It requires a stake admin. I check...

Re: Calendar 3.0 released

I don't see this reported after several searches so posting it as a bug report: In Arizona (the only true and unwavering time zone): I configure my time zone to "America/Phoenix" under "settings gear | date options" When adding a new event to a shared/public calendar, the event i...

Re: simple wifi blocking

The fingbox finds and inventories every device on your network. It can identify most of them. It rescans your network every few minutes looking for new devices. In the phone app, you add a list of people and then associate a device to a person. So, for example, if your child gets a new phone, the ap...

simple wifi blocking

I've been using a device called a fingbox to selectively block internet/wifi access for several months. I thought I'd pass it along in case anyone else needs something like this. https://www.fing.io/ It has several nice features that help with monitoring and blocking kids use of wifi. It works with ...

Re: Newsletter going away???

Agreed. Those same quirks exist for all other file sharing services that might be utilized as a replacement: 1) Training - this will be the same for any service - a ward/stake that chooses to use some other service will have to train users 2) Reliability - I never noticed any unacceptable outages to...

Re: Newsletter going away???

sbradshaw: Here are some items that are currently on our ward & stake newsletter site that need to be shared with ward members and should be kept private: - ward history (has personal contact information in it among other things) - annual letter from the bishop (has personal info) - missionary c...

Re: Newsletter going away???

In my view taking away the newsletter site will result in confidential church information being moved to non-authenticated locations such as public cloud storage, facebook, email, etc. Put us under condemnation (D&C 84:54-55) for treating it lightly, but please don't take it away until an altern...

Re: A great option for Home web filtering

Most ISPs in the US do not perform any filtering. For an ISP, it's a high cost technology that would generate a lot of complaints. If they offer the service, the families that want filtering would complain if they make a mistake. The customers who want to see porn/nudity would complain if they are b...
