The Book of Mormon app that was previously only available as a Windows app is now officially available on Android, Apple, Windows, Nokia Symbian, Nokia Series 40, and Java Phones (J2ME).

According to Church News and Events, "the purpose of the new Book of Mormon app is primarily to make the text and audio recordings of the Book of Mormon accessible to those of other faiths." As such, "the app is simply a digital version of the print Book of Mormon, but without footnotes or cross-references."

The app allows you to download the Book of Mormon in 32 languages. If you want to listen to the narration, you can choose audio in five main languages: English, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. The app can also be viewed on both mobile devices and tablets.

See "Church Members Are Invited to Share New Book of Mormon App with Friends" for more information.

The following screenshots show the Android version of the Book of Mormon app.

Is there a version compatible with the iPhone 3G?
# Greg Brockley 2012-10-20 04:21
This would nice if it was also ported for WebOS. Lots of members still use the HP Touchpad.

An in app feature to be able to share through facebook, twitter, etc would be awesome. You are probably working on this, so I would be one to encourage it!!!

I loved the idea that it was voice but then I realized it has to be streamed. Many time I want to use this study and sharing I don't have wireless service available. Wish we had an option to download sections (with this app or another) in an audio file that could played - not too short though or it is too much to fuss with.

A version for Barnes & Noble Nook devices would be greatly appreciated. The Nook versions of the Gospel Library and LDS Tools apps are wonderful.

Wonderful idea and already shared on Twitter and Facebook but I would echo calls for in app sharing - maybe with an option to attach your testimony as one would with the paper version.

Oh and L Matt - the audio Book of Mormon is available as a free podcast split into a chapter per mp3 file

This sound like fun. I can listen and read along in Portugues to help recall the language. I was in the Brazil Central Mission fifty years ago. Thanks guys.

Thanks Guyz! We have been expecting this. I tried to search for the "Book of Mormon" in Nokia Store. It came up with 10235 results. How do I find it in that "hay stack?" Please why not place a link to the download for each phone type in here or on Thanks for all you do. Appreciated

This is all great. How about extending it with documentation to make it stick though. A pass along card, or a flyer of some kind with all the details would be great to leave with friends. Really great marketing. Thanks.
