LDSTech talk:New wiki content requests

Escheating checks

I have removed this section from the New Content Request for clerk information and updated the article Escheating checks with the information requested. Please provide any feedback you may have on the content. --Caleb 20:32, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

This is a very helpful addition. Although I've been a financial clerk for a total of 15+ years, I've never actually had a check go through the escheatment process, so I was unaware of those details. I made a few minor syntax corrections (some of your single quotes were messed up), but it looks good to me. Thanks! -- Aebrown 21:45, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Home and Visiting Teaching

I would like to pull the information from the Help file in MLS to create this article. I am aware that some of it is out of date and may need to be updated. This would at least give us a starting point for an article though. Thoughts? --Caleb 20:34, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

That would be a good starting point. Right now we have nothing. I find it easier to work on an existing article than to stare at a blank screen and wonder what I should write. The Help file article is probably as good a starting place as any. -- Aebrown 21:45, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Great! I will get to work on this and move the info over. Thanks! --Caleb 22:16, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Home teaching and Visiting teaching have both been created from the MLS help file. --Caleb 19:54, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Nice work, Caleb. Looks good. Lindsayre 16:09, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

I have created a Printing checks article with the information from the MLS help file and made a link to it on the Expenses page. This article is still in need of work to incorporate the forum threads that Alan outlines in his request. -- Caleb 18:23, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for getting this started, Caleb. I have added the requested content (and more) to the article. -- Aebrown 20:42, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Links to translated pages

An alternative to implementing full interlanguage links is to use subpages and a template. An example of a wiki that uses this method is Meta-Wiki. --Steve 08:12, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

I thought I had seen something like that somewhere before. Thanks, Steve, for providing the very helpful link. I think that is precisely the kind of lightweight language translation support we could use for the LDSTech wiki. It satisfies all the requirements I listed, and has the great virtue of already having been invented! -- Aebrown 14:00, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
The Translation procedure is now in place, so I removed that suggestion from the list of new content requests. -- Aebrown 22:19, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
