<event start="Sep 21 1823" end="Sep 22 1823" title="Angel Moroni's Visit">
    <b>1823, September 21-22</b><br/>
    Joseph Smith is visited by the Angel Moroni and told of the Book of Mormon record.
    Joseph viewed the gold plates buried in a nearby hill (Cumorah)
    (see <a href="http://scriptures.lds.org/en/js_h/1/27-54#27">JS-H 1:27-54</a>)

<event start="Sep 21 1823" end="Sep 21 1827" title="Angel Moroni Teaches Joseph">
    <b>1823, September 21-22</b><br/>
    Joseph Smith is taught by the Angel Moroni on a continuing basis until he is prepared
    to receive The Book of Mormon.  Joseph visits the Hill Cumorah every year during this
    3 year period.  During his fourth visit, he is permitted to take the plates.
