Civil divorce, but still sealed

How do I show a marriage terminated civilly, yet still show the ex-spouses are still sealed? I also want to show that person getting re-married civilly to another person.

How do I show a marriage terminated civilly, yet still show the ex-spouses are still sealed? I also want to show that person getting re-married civilly to another person.

Terminating a marriage has no effect on sealing. So all you need to do in MLS is:

1. Go to the person's individual record
2. Go to the Current Spouse tab
3. Click the Terminate Marriage link
4. Enter the requested information.

When you are done, you will see that there is no Current Spouse information, but there will be a note highlighted in yellow that says "Member sealed to prior spouse."

I also want to show that person getting re-married civilly to another person.

To record a civil marriage, go to Membership > Record Ordinances > Record Civil Marriage.
