Reservations not showing up on the reservation calendar
When I try to make a reservation for a private event, it does not show up on the reservation calendar. I have tried making reservations using Internet Explorer, and also Firefox.

Re: Reservations not showing up on the reservation calendar
Make sure you've "expanded" the location of interest on the left side. With the new calendar release, it defaults to the first building. That's different then the old calendar.
It seems odd, but you can create a reservation for a location that you are not currently looking at.

Scratching head... Why do you need to make a "reservation" for a private event on the reservation calendar? Why not just schedule an event?LauraWardle33 wrote:When I try to make a reservation for a private event, it does not show up on the reservation calendar. Weddings and funerals are not ward or stake events, and should not be posted on their calendars.

Ok, I can see that if the wedding or funeral is not in your ward, but putting it on the reservation calendar means that someone else can come along and schedule the building out from under the wedding or funeral.
At least that is my understanding of the reservation calendar. Perhaps a private event calendar would do what you are trying to do?

Re: Reservations not showing up on the reservation calendar
Thank you Russellhltn that was the problem. I didnt realize I now had access to other locations reservation calendars.
TinMan, If I reserve the building for a private event like a wedding, anyone who tries to put a ward or stake event on the calendar cannot book the location if it is already reserved.

Not quite ......LauraWardle33 wrote:If I reserve the building for a private event like a wedding, anyone who tries to put a ward or stake event on the calendar cannot book the location if it is already reserved.
If the reservation is for a unit, then any calendar editor in that unit can create a "conflicting" event. Even if you do set it to "blocked", anyone with building scheduler rights (including yourself) can add a conflicting event. This last version of the calendar seems to have opened up the rights of building scheduler beyond what it's supposed to be. As such, it's quite possible that someone who is a building schedule of another building could add an event right on top of a reservation.
Bottom line - "reservations" (which are more accurately "scheduling restrictions"), should NOT be used for events. Instead, I highly recommend having a separate calendar (perhaps private) for these kinds of functions. "Events" are far safer then "reservations".

Re: Reservations not showing up on the reservation calendar
Really, the reservation calendar should only be used once or twice a year to set up things like "Every Tuesday is reserved for Ward A to have Mutual." It should never be used for specific one time events. It will only cause you problems. Trust me on this.
