Add Ward Editors (by Calling) to Stake Calendar
Has there been any requests or momentum for the ability to add Ward editors by calling to a Stake calendar. For example, we created a "Stake and Ward Baptisms" calendar for reserving the one font we have in the stake center. We'd like all Primary Presidencies and Ward Mission Leaders to be able to edit this calendar. It functions more like a resource calendar. Thoughts?

If that's it's sole purpose, it's not needed. Simply have each group book the event on their calendar in the ward and make sure to select the font as the location. That will prevent conflict.smconvey wrote:It functions more like a resource calendar.
If the need to see the schedule, then they can switch to week view to see what's scheduled in that building.
Note that by placing the event in the ward calendar, it's more likely the ward members will see the event in their candler and chose if they wish to attend.

Re: Add Ward Editors (by Calling) to Stake Calendar
There are two methods our stake uses to permit scheduling the stake center baptismal font. The first method is for each ward to create their own calendar for such events. The stake center is set up so every ward calendar editor can schedule an event at the stake center. The second method is to contact a stake calendar editor for the "Stake Building Use" calendar or a stake administrator and have them schedule the event on the "Stake Building Use" calendar.
Anyone who wants to see the availability of the baptismal font selects the "Week" view on the calendar, selects only the stake center in the "Locations" list box and clicks on "Hide all calendars" under the "Subscribed Calendars" list box. Then dates they want for the baptism are checked for conflicts.

That way what you see is a result of only what's scheduled for that location. Otherwise you'll see a mix of "location events" and your regular calender(s). That could make a significant difference if you're looking at a building other then your ward's building. OTOH, you might want to keep all the calendars on so you're aware of possible conflict with your ward's events.smconvey wrote:What is the advantage of this step?jdlessley wrote:... clicks on "Hide all calendars" under the "Subscribed Calendars list box.
