Lesson Schedules 2013 manuals

#1

Post by jdlessley »

The list of manuals available for classes includes the Doctrine and Covenants and Church History: Gospel Doctrine Teacher's Manual. The Doctrine and Covenants and Church History: Gospel Doctrine Class Member Study Guide is not included. I understand another organization provides the manual list for Lesson Schedules. For Gospel Doctrine study our ward would prefer the class member study guide which is the same as the paper manual.

Our ward would also like to be able to select the class member study guide as the lesson manual for the Sunday School class.

As a Gospel Doctrine instructor, I prefer having the teacher's manual on Lesson Schedules... So the questions that follow are:
How do you provide a link for the teachers to get to the instructors manual and at the same time provide a link for the class members to get to the more appropriate manual for them?

If that can't be done, which is the case currently, which group do you cater to, forcing the other group to find their manual and specific lesson by browsing for it under the lesson manuals links on LDS.org?

Something to consider, Gospel Doctrine is the only class that has a different "manual" for teachers and students. The manual for all other classes is intended for the instructor...

Close, but not quite true. There are student manuals as well as teacher manuals for some of the optional classes such as "Marriage and Family Relations", "Temple and Family History" and "Temple Preparation".

I'd think the answer would be "It is the greatest good to the greatest number of people which is the measure of right and wrong.", or if prefer, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few".

So, unless you expect only 1 student to use that feature ....

It would be helpful if the Gospel Doctrine class schedule linked to the Class Member Study Guide instead of the Teacher's Manual.

If the Class Member Study Guide were available for lesson schedules, you could create two Gospel Doctrine classes, one that links to the Teacher's Manual and one that links the the Class Member Study Guide.
