Editing a private event

#1

Post by msand2171 »

I created an event that put it as private by accident. I need to edit this event, but
it doesn't give me that option when I go back into it. It only let's me view what the event is. What should I do?

It is calendars rather than events that are public or private. You must have put the event on a private calendar. To create an event on a private calendar requires "View and Edit" rights to that calendar. For you to not be able to edit the event would require your permissions to change from "View and Edit" to "View Only" from the time you created the event and when you tried to edit the event.

It is possible there are some access issues for the private calendar. There have been other reported issues concerning private calendar access. With that in mind would you mind checking what permissions you have for the calendar the event was created on?

When you view the details of the event, the name of the calendar the event is on is listed in the upper left of the "View Event" page. You can check the permissions you have for that calendar by going to the Settings/Calendars page and clicking that calendar name. What permissions do you have for that calendar?
