The one sale a day folks are selling the Roku 2 XS refurb today for a good price

I think Roku is really trying to win market share this season. There seem to be many deals. Costco had the XS for $89 with a HMDI cable included. On the weekend ofter Thanksgiving the Roku website had an online deal with free shipping for $75. If you look around you can probably find a deal.

Keep in mind we're looking at the 2 XS - it's the only current model with USB port.

Note the XS is being discontinued in favor of the Roku 3 which only has HDMI outputs and will not work with older TVs.

Are you sure about that? It seems to have a home in the current line-up.

Nope, it isn't in the current line-up, that is the XD, which doesn't have the USB port.

It says it the 2 XD. I have that model, it has a USB port. But there's no indication of it in the new specs.

Both the Roku.com site and Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roku) say the XD model lacks the USB port, maybe you just got lucky? Note the Roku XDS also has USB, but that is an older model.

Never mind, I think I do have the XS. And that is no longer listed.

So, looking at that chart, there is no current model that is both USB capable and has a composite video output.
