Approved Software on ward computers

Post by elderlarryhawkes-p40 »

Is there a link to a list of approved software that can be installed on ward computers. I know that openoffice was included with the last Image update that was put on our ward computer over six months ago, and I have been told by clerks in other wards that openoffice is approved, but it would be more reassuring to see something official.

You can see a "list" of acceptable software by logging into the Member and Leader Services website (www.lds.org/mls/login), under "Additional Local Unit Software". I'd start there...

Adobe Reader
Adobe Flash
CutePDF Writer
OpenOffice
Picasa
PhotoFiltre
The Scriptures
Symantic Security Suite
MLS
MLS Training

Beyond the list, it's whatever is legally licensed and approved by the Stake President (see computer policy for administrative computers).
