Tithing settlement

Why cant the church tie individual member donations to their lds.org account rather than destroying a small forest printing out all the papers necissary for tithing settlement. If lds.org accounts are secure why couldnt an individual member look and print off a copy for their records. I understand the year ending statement with all the tax id etc and have no problem with that, its all the pre donation summaries that waste so much money.

To date, financial information has not been placed on line. However, I believe this is in work, and when appropriate safeguards are in place, a member will be able to do just exactly as you have proposed.

Most financial contributions are already being tied to a member's record number, as is the member's LDS Account.
